Race Beyond Limits is honored to continue the tradition of the Bird family and serve as the new hosts of the 18th Annual Veterans Marathon and Half Marathon. A Boston qualifier marathon in small town, Midwest America. Located in the heart of northeast Indiana, Columbia City is a small-town community with true Hoosier values. It’s a community rooted in its agricultural heritage, strengthened by its commercial and residential development, and proud of its hometown heroes.
The event was created to honor our nation’s Veterans and each year a different branch of the service is recognized with the race swag. This year the Veterans Marathon will be honoring the Army for its 18th running of the race. A portion of the profits from the event are always donated to Veteran’s groups within the county. This year the proceeds will go to the American Legion Post in Churubusco, IN. In addition, the marathon has been named the Road Runner’s Club of America State Championship for 2026.
The course will follow the same route it has followed over the last several years leading runners through the quaint downtown area out into the rolling hills of the countryside. The course is a 13.1-mile loop thus the marathon completes two loops.
